A more confident way to buy used Rover parts
A useful used part starts with a clear description and a seller who can answer specific questions. Use this checklist to organize the conversation before you commit.

1. Establish exactly what is for sale
Read the full description and ask for current photographs of the actual item. Check whether the price covers an assembly or a single component and whether brackets, sensors, wiring, and fasteners are included. Avoid assuming that everything in the photograph comes with the sale.
2. Confirm fitment independently
Compare the actual part number and your vehicle specification with a qualified parts supplier. Model names and years alone may not settle the question. Our fitment checklist helps you gather the details before contacting a specialist.
3. Ask about faults and testing
Ask what is known about the item's history, why it was removed, and whether it has been tested. Request details of the test rather than accepting a vague claim. Have a qualified technician assess suitability for safety-critical uses before installation.
4. Agree the total and the delivery
Confirm the item price, currency, packaging, shipping or collection arrangements, and any return terms. For a bulky item, agree who handles loading and how collection will be arranged. Use a payment method whose protections you understand and keep a written record of the agreement.
5. Keep a record of the handover
Save the listing, photographs, and messages. Inspect the item when it arrives and document any mismatch promptly with the seller. Rover Yard currently connects people; it does not provide checkout, escrow, purchase guarantees, or dispute resolution.
